Recordings
Two new recording projects are online on Bandcamp! And there's a new video out as well as an interview on Classical Post.
Solo Project: West Virginia, My Home
This project started out of an interest in combining storytelling, Appalachian-inspired compositions, and old ballads. It's grown into a project that has commissioned compositions from exciting new composers such as Annika Socolofsky, Jacob Sandridge, Nathan Thatcher, Matthew Browne, Ben Morris, Nadine Dyskant-Miller, Christine Delphine Hedden, and Clay Gonzalez. More compositions (and recordings) are in the works!

Electro-acoustic Duo with Tiziano Teodori
In 2019, Tiziano and I started working together on a project incorporating folk music, storytelling, and electronics along with self-composed works. We are working on our first EP. We performed our first concert in unusual circumstances, thanks to the pandemic. The livestream for the UK-based concert series Blue Rinse is still up on YouTube.

Linen of Words
Recordings and concerts with the new music collective, Linen of Words, are coming soon. The main members of the collective are Leah Plave on cello, Julie Hasfjord on voice, and myself on clarinet and double bass. We are interested in storytelling and collaborations with composers. In 2020, we performed pieces by Evan Premo and Rob Jones as well as pieces I'd written. We're currently workshopping pieces with composers Renan Zelada and Leo Lehtinen, and collaborating with Japanese calligrapher Lanka Abe. Michela Amici joins us on harp for specific projects as well.

Sweet Joe Pye
An old-time string band based in Den Haag, Sweet Joe Pye shares a mix of ballads and fiddle tunes hailing from the Appalachian mountains as well as original compositions. Sweet Joe Pye is a plant which grows all around the Appalachian region and reminds us of home. With unique arrangements and close harmony, we dust off songs from the past to be shared here and now.
